Shabby to Chic – Upcycled Wooden Highchair

As a fan of upcycling, I knew my hobby would also extend to any baby related furniture we’d acquire. Henry’s nursery is a testament to my love for reviving second hand furniture (a nursery tour will be coming up shortly!), so when it came to looking for a highchair for him, I knew I wanted something unique and vintage. After missing out at an antique auction, I finally managed to source this beautiful wooden highchair on eBay for just £35. I love everything about it – the curve of the seat back, the foot rest, the shaped legs – it’s a timeless style and unlike anything available on the highstreet.

I started off with two coats of Annie Sloan Old White, then finished with a coat of Dulux Made By Me Satin in Cool White, which gives a long-lasting and waterproof finish. I covered the foam seat pad in pastel polka dot fabric from Laura Ashley, which is PVC-coated so any messes and spills can easily be wiped up. I love the fresh new look, it fits in with our country style kitchen perfectly. I can’t wait for the day Henry is big enough to sit in it!

It looks amazing! But try to adapt a seat belt because they are not staying still and they do have it in their nature to slip…xaxa!
