Happy Birthday Lipcote! The award winning Brit Beauty Classic celebrates 50 years of being the original lipstick sealer which gives lasting, transfer resistant lipstick. I’m a huge lipstick fan and its one of those things I have with me at all times. My lipstick drawer is something I love delving into to find that perfect shade to match my outfit and give the finishing touch. Some of my favourite lipsticks may boast beautiful shades and amazing formulations but they’re lacking when it comes to staying power (YSL Rouge Volupte and Estee Lauder Pure Colour Crystal I’m looking at you!) so this is when Lipcote comes to the rescue. Brushed over lipstick, Lipcote gives a satin matte finish that lasts hours. Say goodbye to feathering and fading!
To celebrate Lipcote’s 50 years, this afternoon I had a little experimenting session where I mixed a few lipsticks together, tried some new shades and put Lipcote to the test…
The ultimate test for Lipcote is of course the attention grabbing red lipstick. One of my concerns I have when it comes to wearing red lipstick is the fear that the lipstick will wear off from the centre first, leaving me with a not so attractive red outline. Lipstick isn’t something you want to be worrying about all night – I prefer to slap it on and forget about it so I can enjoy my cocktails and the night ahead. Lipcote allows you to eat, drink and be merry! Here I’m wearing Revlon’s Cherries in the Snow…
…then sealed with a slick of Lipcote and voilà, my red lippie is locked in! I was surprised to find Lipcote doesn’t completely matte out your lips and a slight sheen remains but as with any kind of product which claims to make your lipstick last it is going to dry out your lips to some degree so I add a little balm to my lips afterwards to keep them soft and moisturised.
Top Tips for Perfect Lips from The Powderpuff Girls
♥ Blot your lips so they are clean and ready to be beautified
♥ Perfectly line your lips and then fill in the whole area with your pencil to create the ideal base for your lipstick
♥ Apply your chosen lipstick to every part of your lips
♥ Blot well and apply that lovely lipstick once again for a more intense colour
♥ Lipcote time – like the lip liner, paint on the lip line first and then fill in the rest
♥ Keep your lips apart in a Marilyn-style breathy pout while the Lipcote tingles and sets

Your lips are amazing! That red lipstick just makes them look so lush and pouty! I'm jealous :')
I havnt tried lipcote but I always see it in the shops but I was never sure whether it would actually work or not. I think I'm going to give it a go, i hate reapplying lipstick on a night out.

I tried this years and years ago… But I found if you rub your lips together it comes off in flakes? Like glue?
