What kind of home do you have? What kind of environment do you hope to create?
For me, I want to be the kind of mother who makes my children laugh, who says yes to adventures, running barefoot in the garden and indoor picnics. Who gets up and dances with them, builds forts and plays with water indoors, jumps on beds and makes messes with them.
I want to be a mother who creates a home. A home that is lived in, and filled with love. A place where wild memories are created and the echo of laughter fills the walls. A place where we cuddle, giggle, roll around, run, and soak up as many moments as possible.
I am a laid back mother, I don’t sweat the small stuff. We eat on the sofa, we jump on furniture, we paint on the coffee table. Those ‘messes’ are memories in the making. I never want my children to be fearful if they accidentally spill something during their precious and carefree childhood days.
Inevitably, with fun and mischief comes spills and accidents. Those indoor picnics mean strawberries get smushed into the carper, making oobleck means sticky dripping hands, and with naked babies, well, you can guess what happens.
One of Henry’s favourite things to do is run around naked, and I remember whilst we were potty training him at the beginning of the year, amongst the scattering of toys littered across the floor, I suddenly spotted a questionable mound on the carpet. And yep, upon investigation, it was exactly what you’re thinking of, much to my horror!
And it’s little moments like that, those funny anecdotes that are the essence of being a parent and dealing with messes and stains, that mean it’s always best to have some cleaning supplies on hand. I partnered with Stainmaster, who sent over a few products from their Carpet Care line to put to the test when it comes to cleaning up after my darling little mess makers!
These products are designed to treat difficult stains and protect the carpet from future resoiling by leaving an invisible shield that repels dirt without leaving a sticky residue. It’s so useful having these on hand, to quickly clean up when Henry’s had fun potting plants, but walked soil into the house. Or the times we’ve dropped food or drinks – (I’m as messy as they are!) – I don’t have to worry about the spills and accidents, because these products actually work. And a little tip; the Stainmaster Pet Stain Remover works wonders on removing the potty training kind of accidents!
So mama’s,
get messy, have fun, lose your inhibitions
… you can always clean up afterwards using Stainmaster.
