Our darling Everly Rose is now one! Her big day was celebrated a couple of weekends ago with a rustic floral themed party. I’m loving boho vibes at the moment so I couldn’t resist incorporating elements into her special day. It was a happy day (although Henry struggled with understanding why the presents weren’t for him and there were tears – nobody warned me about that!) where Everly delighted in opening her presents and feasted on cake.
I made her little birthday cake myself, using the same micro tin that I used for Henry’s 1st birthday. I decided on a naked cake, which fit perfectly with the rustic nature theme, and although it didn’t turn out quite how I’d hoped, (the frosting was tearing apart the cake as I spread it!) I love that it was homemade. I topped it with some delicate white gypsophila and purple chrysanthemums from our garden, and used a round birch slice as a cake stand.
For her birthday outfit I chose a sweet little linen dress with a darling scalloped collar and cuffs, and she wore a beautifully made floral crown which we managed to keep on her head for a few photos! It was a little bittersweet celebrating her very first birthday without her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, but it was still a special day for our very special little girl.
We love you so much Everly. It is an honour being your mama and watching you grow. You’re such a blessing and you bring so much joy to our family, with your sweet smile and cheeky giggle. You certainly are a feisty little firecracker, but then I should have known my daughter would be!
You are bold and strong willed. You are my wild girl, so fearless in your pursuit. You are small but mighty, and never has a quote captured your essence so perfectly…
Though she be but little, she is fierce.
I love your sass and stubborn determination, your lively spirit and the way your face lights up when you see me. My gal pal, my best friend in the making. We’re going to have a lot of fun, you and I. My heart overflows with love for you and the little girl you are becoming. I can’t wait to share in many more years of love and memories with you.
